This is probably one of my favorite twists in all of Bleach. Really wish we got more of Kaien. I loved his shikai.

The scene when the mask breaks off and he has mostly 1 horn left was great foreshadowing to his HOS form later in the series. Also when he trained for dangai form and mugetsu when his 2 powers combined into one form to train him was another foreshadow of it.

when you think about it between her shikai and her bankai it covered all of Sol Fon's area's in battle she had her stealthy swift release and if an enemy was too powerful or too well defended for her release she could use her Bankai to blast them away

When old man Yamamoto gets stabbed by Kyoka suigetsu he accepted the blade and aizen was shocked because the weakness of the complete hypnosis is accepting the tip of the blade thus from then on Aizen couldn't use his zanpakuto on him so he had to use wonderwiess

I love how we got this exposition between Orihime and Ulquiorra about "what the heart is" throughout the saga. It's sprinkled throughout to add emotion to the fights. Contrast this with Naruto vs Obitio which contained several long winded exposition dumps about having a change of heart which breaking the pacing of their fight. Also, know I am a Naruto fan; Bleach did emotions better in my opinion. What's the point of saying great ninjas talk with their chakra and then just say it all out loud anyways?
